March was a month of new experiences. The weather warmed up and we were able to venture outside the first week of March to take some much needed walks in the sunshine, it reached 70 degrees on March 9th! After being cooped up in the building for the winter we were excited to finally have some warmer days.
We celebrated the month of March with many activities. The residents enjoyed a mystery auction where they blindly bid on items in a closed bag. Everyone anxiously awaited the reveal of the item, even if they didn’t win.
Terry Johnson came and entertained us on March 6th. He had us all singing and the staff even joined in on the Hokey Pokey. The residents look forward to live entertainment and we are blessed with so many great artists that come provide that for us.
St. Patrick’s Day was filled with everything Irish. We made green shamrocks out of pretzels and dipped them in green chocolate in cooking club. Of course for lunch we had a Corn beef and Cabbage dinner, the residents enjoyed every last bite. At our Social we served Irish ale and Avocado Deviled eggs.
We introduced some new games that the residents enjoyed. First was our very own Price is Right Game where the residents won all sorts of Prizes. Family Feud was a big hit, where the residents were split into two teams and battled each other for the chance to play Fast Money!!
We celebrated the first day of spring by making flower decorations for their resident doors! Looking for- ward to what Spring has to offer here at The Terrace!
April is the month for new beginnings. Just like the new grass and flowers that are growing so is The Terrace at Woodland. We welcomed many new residents the past few weeks and have included them in all of our exciting activities.
Easter will be celebrated on March 12th this year and we have a lovely Easter meal planned with all the trimmings. We will be making Easter decoration for the facility and resident rooms in crafting club on Mondays at 10:30 AM in the Activity room. Also make sure to attend cooking club on Wednesday April 8th for Easter bread making. Hope to see you there!
