February started off with a bang here at the Terrace at Woodland. The residents enjoyed a mystery auction, where they bid on items. Some of the items were personal care and others were decoration for the upcoming holiday. We were bursting with LOVE here at The Terrace! The residents decorated their rooms and the activity room with handmade valentines and crafts.
Tuesday is the day to come in the living room. We enjoy wine and treats and expand our minds with games from Vigorous Minds. The residents have so much fun guessing the an- swers to all sorts of games ranging from proverbs to word jumbles.
We had a wonderful Valentine Social complete with piano music provided by David Secor . The residents enjoyed music from their past such as; Let me call you sweet heart and Has anybody seen my gal. Everyone was singing and some even had a twirl on the dance floor.
As February came to a close we enjoyed that last few holidays. Mardi Gras was celebrated with stacks of blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes. We had an Ash Wednesday mass where the residents all received ashes and stated what they were giving up for Lent. Last but not least we celebrated Leap Day by hav- ing a Frog Jump Game enjoyed by staff and residents.
March is the month of luck! We will behaving many chances for the residents to win prizes. Starting with Bingo, Card Flip, and many Games of Chance through out the month. We will be festively decorating the facility and resident rooms with shamrocks and pots of gold hidden all over.
We have a new chorus guy who will be coming every other Thursday. His name is Gary Powers and he has worked very hard to pre- pare musical hand outs for us to follow along with.
Come down and try out some of the activities, there is something for everyone!
