The Terrace at Woodland

May 2020

April Recap
The month of April was a month of change. We were challenged with ways to help our residents maintain their lifestyle but still follow the social distancing regulations. With all that in mind, the Terrace staff delved into learning all we could about video calls. We setup a Zoom account and have had the residents video chat with their loved ones. The video chats are being scheduled by Kathy if you would like to sign up just call 315-336-0307 or email

Window visits are also being utilized to see your loved one in person and chat with them on the phone. This is working very well, and is also being scheduled through the front desk. One of our window visit was featured in the Utica OD!Our entertainment has not skipped a beat! We are so thankful to our local musician who has posted Happy hour videos and provided live streaming concerts for our residents.

The residents enjoyed a Happy Easter Video made especially for them featuring their very own family members.

The joy on their faces of seeing family that was far away was very touching. We had a video from as far away as New Zealand.

Looking Forward
In May we will be celebrating Mother’s Day with a Ladies High Tea. We want to have a very special video for them and are reaching out to family members to submit a clip of them with everyone in the family wishing the residents Happy Mother’s Day, all videos should be emailed to

As spring is in the air we are going to be working on our flower garden. We will be planting a variety of flowers and bushes for all to enjoy. Our gardening club will take care of weeding and watering the plants.

We have a picnic lunch and Fire Pit Social in honor of Memorial Day on Friday May 22nd for the residents to enjoy.
