January was filled with snow inspired crafts. We made Welcome Winter wooden signs for the residents doors and snowman mason jars lanterns for decora- tions. For Crazy Hat Day we made and decorated hats that we wore to lunch. It was fun for everyone! The residents loved showing off their handy work.
We warmed things up in the kitchen with our many cooking club recipes. Our favorite dish to make were mini Whoopi pies with peppermint frosting.
Music filled the air every Friday at 2:30pm .We started the month out with Terry Johnson singing all the best songs from Johnny Cash to Frank Sinatra. Ron Miner tickled the ivories for us the following week. He plays all the songs from the 20’s– 70’s. It is standing room only for him so make sure to come early and get a seat in the future. Larry Serafini had us all feeling like we were on the beach with his lounge style tunes. We ended the month with Paul Ryder sing- ing all the old country and western songs by Hank Williams and Kenny Rogers. Everyone loves his rendition of Jimmy Buffet’s song Margaritaville!
The month of love is upon us and we will doing acts of caring. We will be making valentines to distribute throughout the facility to staff and residents. We will be putting candy grams together that you can send to a fellow resident within the facility, They will passed out at lunchtime. Come see Kim in the Activity room if you would like to send one. February is all about making everyone feel loved at The Terrace!
